Well the countdown begins. In 3 sleeps this team will be hitting the pavement and officially starting our 12 hour walk. We have raised our pledges, packed our bags, collected our site details and now are ready to start our relay. For about 2 months our team has come together to mastermind our thoughts and ideas on what we would like to represent this year at the Relay for life event. What came to our minds first and foremost was that we wanted to honour each and every individual in our lives that have battled this terrible disease. Each one of us in some way has been greatly effected and lost a family member or friend to cancer. Some now are currently battling this disease and will win. This year we felt that it was very important and a great honour to walk in memory of a very near and dear friend. Nancy Sarginson, a great woman who lost her battle to malignant melanoma this past February. Malignant Melanoma (skin cancer) is a cancer that truly has a great effect on us all. We are outside everyday of life and have the greatest opportunity to see first hand the effects of sun. So we agreed that making others aware of the harmful effects would really honour Nancy.
